FASCIA, MUSCLE TIGHTNESS, & CUPPING THERAPY

FASCIA

The fascia forms the largest network of tissue that we call connective tissue. It envelopes our muscles, bones and organs that has the ability to adapt to the demand placed on it.

MUSCLE TIGHTNESS

By nature, muscle tightness descends into the body. By the time a trigger point has developed, what is painful and immediate upon palpation is like, by analogy, the upper portion of an iceberg - with the bulk of its mass beneath the surface.

CUPPING THERAPY

Cupping is an effective dispersing therapy because the drawing out effect of vacuum makes cupping the only therapy that turns around the inward dynamic and separates and opens out the constricted tissue fibres and promotes an increase of blood supply to release tightness, increase metabolic uptake and eliminate the reasons for pain. This effective releasing of soft tissue can also be called Myofascial release.

DISCOLOURIATIONS (Cupping Marks)

The discolorations produced by cups look like bruising but do not act like bruising. Bruising to touch can be painful however with cupping marks this is not the case, which is why this is not a correct description. Unfortunately, this, misconception often scares people from treatment.

They are indeed marks that only occur when the therapeutic process has drawn pathogenic factors to the skin surface. The cupping mark is part of a range of blood stasis conditions known as "blood stagnation", by moving stasis and allowing a refill of fresh blood to recuperating tissue, which removes pain and accelerates the healing process.

90% of our clients have connective tissue, fascia issues due to the demands placed on their body. At Body Therapist we focus on connective tissue repair in every service we offer from Massage, Treatments to our Yoga/Pilates Classes. It is the knowledge that powers the the Body Therapist experience.
